During his training, Paul Carchon chose to tackle the global skills competition: WorldSkills.
Organized in three phases — regional, national, then international — the competition pits young people from 90 countries against each other to demonstrate their technical mastery. The WorldSkills standard defines a demanding benchmark: knowledge, understanding, and skills aligned with global best professional practices.
The adventure began in the Paris region, alongside his studies at École Boulle. One piece to create, 18 hours spread over three days, four sub-assemblies to present on time. Paul Carchon came away with the regional gold medal and qualified for the national finals.
Six months then separated him from the last gateway to the world stage. Six months of training, doubts, and progress.
In October 2025, Paul won the medal of excellence at the French Championships — without, however, securing a ticket to the world final.
